Floating Between Worlds
There’s nothing more awkward than being asked, “So, what do you do for a living?”

Artist? Graphic designer? Marketing director? Food stylist? Chef? Each title feels true — and yet, none of them feels complete. For a long time, I didn’t know how to answer. I just felt… lost. Empty.
Hi, I’m Bomi — chef, designer, and visual storyteller. After years in creative direction, culinary training, and food styling, I’ve returned to what grounds me most: the quiet power of food, healing, and intention.
This year brought me back to my roots. I had to rebuild — slowly, gently — from burnout and quiet devastation toward something more whole. Through it all, food became everything. My anchor. My language. My way back home.
Growing up between the U.S., Argentina, and Seoul, I often felt like I was floating between worlds — never fully here, never fully there. Cultural differences and language barriers shaped me early on. I was a quiet kid who found solace in art and cooking — and those became my first languages.
When I couldn’t find the words, I drew. I cooked. Through these hands-on acts of creation, I discovered joy. I found love. That’s why I never questioned what I wanted to study. Art, craft, and cooking weren’t just interests — they were how I understood myself.
To me, food is more than nourishment.
It’s memory.
It’s love.
It’s a common language.
It’s how I share who I am — even when words fall short.
And that’s what I hope to share here: my stories, my flavors, my heart — one bite, one frame, one feeling at a time.
